Walter Shelton Sr.

Walter Jerome Shelton Sr., 81, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at a local hospital. Walter was a resident of Rossville for over 50 years and member at Spring Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was a member of Tompkins Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. Walter was a business agent for Bakery Workers Union Local #25. Survivors are wife of 64 years, Maxine Smith Shelton; sons, Walter Shelton Jr., Anthony (Julie) Shelton, Jason Shelton, and Justin Shelton; daughters, Cynthia (David) Dockery Sr. and Tanya (Buddy-deceased) Melford; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 4 p.m. today, May 24, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Clay officiating.
