Lloyd Congdon

Willard Lloyd Congdon, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Lloyd was a bank executive with Community Trust and Banking Co. for over 11 years. He was an alumni of the University of Chattanooga and the School of Banking of the South at LSU. Board member of many professional organizations including the Chattanooga Hamilton County Small Business Development Center, the American Institute of Banking, as well as a Trustee of the Tennessee Consumer Lending School at Vanderbilt. Lloyd was a Sergeant in the United States Army. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Rothwell Congdon; mother, Hellen Lee Congdon; aunt, Pauline E. Pettey. Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Wendi (Bobby) Stott; sons, Michael and Brad (Holly) Congdon; sister, Carolyn Ann Stradley; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; faithful loving and assistant caregiver (Dog) Barney. The family will receive friends today, May 30, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, May 31, 2015, from 1-2 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2015, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Galyon. Interment will follow to Chattanooga Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga, particularly nurses Cheryl Brewer, Debbie Havron, Debbie Turner, Donna Winters and Dr. Galina Rader for their exceptional care and service.
