Nathaniel Blackwell

Nathaniel "Jack" Blackwell Jr., 83, passed away Nov. 21, 2015. He retired from the US Postal Service after 18 years of service. He served 29 years in the United States Army. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Mae Edith Blackwell; children, Vanya "Kim" Blackwell, Yolanda "Gale" Blackwell, Gerald (Marva) Blackwell, Gary "Lil Jack" Blackwell, Michael (Theresa) Hines, Steve (Freda) Hines, Warren (Linda) Hines; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at Prospect Baptist with Pastor J. P. Trimble officiating. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
