Niecy Nelson

Angela Denise "Niecy" Nelson, 47, of Antioch, Tenn., formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015. "Niecy" was born on Feb. 11, 1967, in Newnan, Ga., to Katherine Woods and the late Robert Lee Boddie. Niecy grew up in Chattanooga, relocating while she was young. She matriculated through the Hamilton County School System, where she was a 1985 graduate of Brainerd High School. Niecy enjoyed traveling, roller skating, and basketball. When she entered a room, her presence was known her height, radiant smile, and her great sense of fashion and laugh delighted everyone she met. All of which made an easy transition into a brief modeling career while she attended college in Atlanta at DeVry in 1986-87. Niecy was fun to be around and full of life. Her fondest moments were dancing, singing, and spending time with her family. On August 5, 1993, after a short courtship, she married the love of her life, Keith. To this union two children were born, Dallas and Chelsea. She loved her family dearly. They spent precious time together travelling on many road trips supporting each others basketball endeavors. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving husband, Keith Nelson; children, Dallas and Chelsea; mother, Katherine Woods; sisters, Cynthia Gail Woods and Lashonda (Jason) Harris; brother, Timothy (Andrea) Boddie; and friend/sister, Thedra Pendergrass; mother-in-law, Geneva Nelson (John D. Nelson, deceased); sister-in-law, Edith Nelson; brothers-in-law, Maurice (Sharon) Nelson, John D. Nelson Jr., and Kim Nelson; special and devoted niece, Peryenthia L. Gore; other nieces and nephews, Jania and Jaylon Boddie, Elin Sam Harris, Angela, Victor Jr., Bryson, Christina, Brooklyn, Terrian, Tisha, and Courtney; one great-nephew; and a host of loving cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Living Stones Ministry, Bishop William Holloway Jr., Pastor. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
