Woodrow Parks

Woodrow Charles "Chuck" Parks, 69, passed away Aug. 29, 2015, at a local hospital. He was a graduate of Council Training High School and attended J. F. Drake Technical College, Huntsville, Ala. He was of Baptist faith. He was formerly employed with Digital Equipment Corporation as the Field Service Manager; ACS, Arnold Air Force Base, as a principal engineer and also served in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Commendation Medal. "Chuck" has also been awarded the NASA Skylab Achievement Award. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henderson Parks and Odessa Steger and brother, Rev. Terry L. Parks. Survivors include his loving wife, Geraldine Wherry Parks; sons, Reginald C. Parks and Shawn O. Parks; grandson, Jordan Parks, all of Chattanooga; stepfather, Monroe Steger, Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters, Vivian Steger, Atlanta, Ga., Carolyn (Dennis) Griffith, Knoxville, Tenn., and Theresa Greene, Atlanta, Ga. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 in the Chapel. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. the day of service. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
