Evadna Roberts

Evadna Roberts, went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2016. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. In her long life, she rarely had an unkind word to say about anyone or to anyone. Born Evadna Lovelady Sept. 1, 1923; she was a 1941 graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. Evadna went on to marry Charles Ray Roberts and spent many years working at National Hosiery Mill. Her main calling in life though was to be a devoted mother and grandmother. Evadna was a very active member of Red Bank Baptist Church. Evadna is survived by two sons, Bill and David (Shena) Roberts; two grandsons, John (Tiffany) and Eddie (Brittany) Roberts; four great-grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, Jackson and Maddie Roberts. Evadna was dearly loved by Beverly Roberts. Bert and Peggy Jones loved her like a sister. Evadna was blessed to live in a wonderful neighborhood where she was looked after and cared for. Willene Martin was an especially good neighbor. The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace. Funeral services for Evadna will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bert Jones and Rev. Wilburn Hardyman officiating. Interment will follow to Chattanooga Memorial Park.
