Alice Dycus

Alice Powers Dycus, 73, also of Cohutta, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at Erlanger Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty Powers; father and mother-in-law, Dewey and Gladys Dycus; daughter-in-law, Denise Dycus. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church for over 60 years. Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Bill Dycus of the residence; daughter, Jessica Dycus, of Ringgold; son and daughter-in-law, Wilborn and Cindy Dycus, of Ringgold; brother, Danny Powers, of Ringgold; grandchildren, Lucas and Jared Kirkpatrick, Ansley Dycus, David and Mary Kate Dycus, Ashley Cannon, Jordyn Duke, Kristen and Tony Stewart, Rachel Jones; four great-grandchildren and anxiously awaiting the arrival of number five; nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be held Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, 1721 Smith Chapel Rd., Tunnel Hill, GA with Rev. Jim Reilly and Rev. Dennis Jarvis officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Smith Chapel today from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Smith Chapel UMC, 145 Penipat Trace, Tunnel Hill, GA 30755.
