Maxine Ewton

DUNLAP — Maxine Spangler Ewton, 88, passed away on Dec. 11, 2016. She was preceded in death in 2012 by her devoted and loving husband of 63 years, William Reece Ewton; her parents, Ethel and Hugh Spangler and brothers Paul, Kenneth, Walter, J.B. and Raymond Spangler. Mrs. Ewton is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Regenia Ewton Moore and Donnie Moore, of Smyrna Tenn.; son, Mike Ewton (Janice) of Manchester, Tenn.; grandchildren, Michelle (Jim) Sidney, of Woodstock Ga., Misty Patton (Charles), of Murfreesboro, Mike (Sarah) Moore, of Nashville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brett and Ryan Sidney, Gracyn, Sophia and Zoe Patton and loving niece, Dianne Fletcher. Maxine was a member of Smyrna First United Methodist Church. Maxine and Reece enjoyed many years of traveling and watching their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Visitation will be on Dec 13, 2016, from noon until 2 p.m. at Ewton Funeral Home in Dunlap, TN, followed immediately by the service at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna, Tenn., on Dec 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to thank the caring staff of The Waterford in Smyrna, especially caregivers and friends, Ella McKnight and Linda Turner and Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Alive Hospice Murfreesboro TN.
