Michael Luffman

Michael Lee Luffman, 65, of Harrison, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 15, 2016. Mike loved the Lord dearly. He was a man of great integrity, strength, and had a kind, quiet spirit. He had a servant’s heart and it showed in all he did. Over the years, he tirelessly served his clients, helped many widows, and generously gave to all who asked as well as those who did not. Michael is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debra Luffman; daughters, Michelle Luffman, Kristie (Charlie) Luffman-Minor and Kerri-Beth (Brian) Tew; grandchildren, Eli Minor, Davey Minor, Grace Tew and Mason Tew; sisters, Faye Roberson and Freda (Stosh) Cyle; brother, David Luffman; sister-in-law, Dana (Russell) Kitchens, several nieces and nephews along with many close, beloved family friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Georgia Luffman and infant son, Michael Shane Luffman. Michael and Debra were high school sweethearts and were together for 50 years. He was a devoted, doting husband and was equally cherished in return. He loved his grandchildren and spent every spare moment with them. He never missed an event for them and took great pleasure in watching and playing sports with them, attending performances and special events, and watching his granddaughter’s equestrian competitions. He enjoyed Tennessee Vols football, Lady Vols basketball, mixed martial arts and sword training. He was a member of Abba’s House for over 30 years and also served as a deacon, on the Pastor’s Council, special service groups and several other committees. He dearly loved his pastor, church, and church family. Visitation will be held at Abba’s House today, Dec. 17, 2016, from 10 a.m. to noon. The funeral service will follow the visitation at noon at Abba’s House with Dr. Ron Phillips officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Brian Tew, Charlie Minor, Jim Minor, Russell Kitchens, Stosh Cyle, Taylor Cyle, Scott Adams and Larry York. Arrangements are being held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
