Devon Colwell

Ill. Devon Keith Colwell, 23, passed away suddenly on Jan. 14, 2016. Devon was born in New Albany, Ind., on Feb. 27, 1992. Devon graduated in 2011 from Larkin High School in Elgin. Devon loved reading, music and collectible card games. He enjoyed giving back by volunteering for local charity organizations, outreach programs and soup kitchens for the homeless. Devon is survived by his parents, Larry and Paula Jeanne Colwell; his daughter, Samantha Marie; his grandparents, Susan Crain, James and Jessie Alexander, and Van and Rose Pate; and his great-grandmother, Iva Pate Mull. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennah Hope Diane; grandfather, Chester Colwell; and great-grandfather, Charles D. Pate. Memorial services will be private.
