Bea Caldwell

Beatrice "Bea" Caldwell passed away Feb. 4, 2016, at Health Center at Standifer Place. She was born April 28, 1940, in Caracas, Venezuela. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and University of Chattanooga. She worked in the Catholic diocese for various priests. She also worked as a house mother at the University, for Fillauer Companies, Signal Mountain Dry Cleaners and Hallmark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Berta Caldwell; her brother, Al Caldwell; and brother-in-law, Axel Lubkowitz. She is survived by her brother, Pete (Carol) Caldwell of Ringgold, Ga.; sister, Maria Lubkowitz of Signal Mountain; sister-in-law, Judy Caldwell of Athens, Tenn.; nephews and nieces, Daphne (Jeff) Kirksey of Signal Mountain; Mark (Ginger) Lubkowitz of Richmond, Vt.; Erika (Brian) Bailey of Raleigh, N.C.; Anne Marie (George) Ledford of Cleveland, Tenn.; Chris (Kim) Caldwell of Friendsville, Tenn.; Nicole (Mike) Shields of Lynnbrook, N.Y.; Stephanie Caldwell of New York City; 14 great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at St. Augustine Catholic Church on Signal Mountain. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery in East Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic of Charities of East Tennessee or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. following the service at the church.
