Walter Croy

Walter Croy Walter "Poppie" Cecil Croy, lost his battle with lung cancer and went to live with the Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2016. Walt served during the Vietnam era and retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service. He was a volunteer for the Disabled American Veterans. He loved wood carving, making walking canes, working with leather, drawing and painting gourds. His love for the outdoors had him grow beautiful flowers and a green, lavish lawn. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ann; adopted daughter, Mariaha; two step-children, Susan and Derik; daughter-in-law, Denise; brother, C. S. Croy, of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Nyla Clower and Mary Price, of Princeton, W. Va.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends that loved him dearly. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace, with visitation 1-2 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
