Mary Beene

Mary Louise Miller Beene, 95, of Chattanooga, and of Eustis, Fla., died on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at River Chase Care Center in Quincy, Fla. She was the daughter of Isadora V. Kimsey and Albert Fulton Miller. Mary was the sister of Robert “Earl” Miller, Albert Jr. Miller, Billy Miller, Martha Elisabeth Miller-Peters and Bud Gilbert. She later married William G. Beene, of Chattanooga, in January 1938 and was married for 57 years, until his passing in April 1995. “Mrs. Beene” or “Aunt Louise” lived a long wonderful life, she worked and retired from Dixie Yarns here in Chattanooga and later spent her time driving a school bus for Lake County, Fla. She was extremely devoted to her husband and to her family and friends. She consistently reached out and made a positive difference in other people’s lives. Mrs. Beene was a lifetime member of God and Parker’s Gap Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, William G. Beene, and her two children, William Richard Beene and Katherine Rebecca Beene Hudgins. Her survivors include her grandchildren, Richard G. Beene II, Havana, Fla., Dale G. Beene, Tallahassee, Fla., Kevin B. Hudgins, Chattanooga, Cynthia Louise Twilley, Fort Payne, Ala., Devin J. Beene, Lake Worth, Fla., and Taylor John “TJ” Beene, Merritt Island, Fla. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Mark Smith of Pathway/Parker’s Gap Baptist Church officiating.
