Lena Ilean Blansit

ROSSVILLE — Lena Ilean Simmons Blansit, 78, passed from this life to her eternal home Tuesday, Oct. 25,2016. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Stella Simmons; brothers, Grady, Eueal, Raymond, Arlis and Leroy Simmons. Ilean was raised in Chattanooga, and attended Central High School. She was retired from the State of Tennessee. In Ilean’s younger years she enjoyed participating in softball and basketball. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Ilean is survived by her sons, Darrell Guffey, of Rossville, Ga., Tylan (Karen) Blansit, of Apison, Tenn.; and step-daughter; Kristy Blansit Johnson, of Rossville, Ga.; grandchildren. Brittny and Chelsea Guffey, BJ and Brett Blansit, Drew Hall and Lyndsey Pritchett; as well as a brother, Earl Simmons; and sister, Hazel Simmons Guinn numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be in First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe, Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Rev.
