Paula Stone

Paula Jane Stone, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at a Knoxville Health Care facility. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. Moving there at a young age from Mayfield, Ky., she was the daughter of the late George and Eliza Holland Crawford. She was a graduate of Chattanooga Central High School, class of 1946. For many years she worked at Chattanooga Federal Savings & Loan Bank. She also worked at Hale Reality for several years and later was employed with TVA. She was a member of the Ridgedale Baptist Church of Chattanooga, where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Parnick L. Stone; one son, Dan (Sylvia) Stone, of Louisville, Tenn.; three grandsons, Matthew (Charlotte) Stone, of Charlottesville, Va., Andrew (Anna-Ruth) Stone, of Franklin, Tenn., and Phillip Stone, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Stone; one brother, George Crawford, of Jasper, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. today in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The Friendship Sunday School Class of Ridgedale Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. till 1 p.m. today, Sept. 30, 2016, at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 E. Brainerd Road.
