Ida Davidson

TRENTON — Ida Belle Davidson, 91, passed away on April 4, 2017. She was born on Dec. 31, 1925, in Canton, Ohio, and was a member of the Sand Mountain United Methodist Church. Mrs. Davidson achieved a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. She then taught at Davis for more than 30 years and retired from the Dade County school system. Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her parents, John H. “Dutton” Davis and Mae Crisp Davis; brothers, Charles H. Davis and James Dudley Davis; sister, Clara Bea Rice; son-in-law, Carnell Galloway. Surviving include her son, John (Linda) Davidson; daughter, Mayiris Galloway; daughter, Pam (Gene) Cleckler; grandchildren, Clay (Cindy) Galloway, Regina (Mitchell) Moore, Rhonda (Mason) Bradford, Michael (Anne) Long, Alyssa (Corey) Poole; several stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren, Harley and Dallas Galloway, Conner, Kayden and Kayci Moore, Stryder and Lakelynn Bradford, Parker and Ella Long, Grayson Poole; great-great-grandson, Harper Galloway-Dean. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday April 7, 2017, in the chapel with Rev. Jimmy Hixon and Rev. Wayne Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Brown’s Gap Cemetery.
