Karen Austin

RINGGOLD — Karen Arlene Helton Austin, 58, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, April 20, 2017. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, she was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, David Lamar Austin; son, Brian David Austin; parents, Harold and Lillie Epps Helton; and grandparents, Marvin and Myrtle Helton and Walton and Minerva Epps. She is survived by two brothers, Blaine (Gail) Helton, and David Helton; adopted brother, Casey Westra; great-uncle, B.C. Epps; and numerous cousins; special friends, Darla Crawford, Lynn Latimer and Gail Borders. The family would like to thank Dr. Lindsey Crawford for all she did for Karen and the family during this time. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday April 23, 2017, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Robert Borders and Dr. John Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and until funeral time Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Ga.
