Pat Evans

Pat Evans, 89, was born in Nashville, Tenn., but lived in Chattanooga most of her life. She passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Williamsburg, Ky. Along with her husband, Pat was a charter member of St. Luke UMC in the Stuart Heights community in Chattanooga, Tenn., where they lived and raised their three daughters. Pat graduated from East Nashville High School and Agnes Scott College (Atlanta.) Pat taught 4th and 5th grades at Rivermont Elementary School for 22 years. Her life was centered around her family. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 57 years, Robert C. (Bob) Evans and her parents, William H. and Ruth McGowan (Nashville.) She is survived by her three daughters, Jane Evans Graham, Betsy Evans Donahue, and Anne Evans Bays (John); five grandchildren, Rachel Sigler (Nick), Katherine Graham, Natalie Graham, Grace Whitaker, and Bryce Bays; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace Sigler. She is also survived by her only sister, Betty McGowan Evans; nine nieces and nephews and their families; two first cousins, Rev. Gene Paradise (Atlanta) and Mack Rhea (Nashville.) The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. April 22, 2017, at the St. Luke UMC in Chattanooga Tenn. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. April 22, 2017, at St. Luke UMC with Rev. Evelyn Harris officiating. Interment will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
