Helen Bishop

DAYTON — Helen R. Bishop passed away April 26, 2017 at her residence. Helen was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and of the Baptist faith. She will be forever missed and loved by all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Andy and Sarah Ollie Smith; husband, Crawford Bishop; four brothers, Thomas Smith, Earl Smith, Claude Smith and Jessie Smith; three sisters, Cella Denton, Leota Boofer, Betty Jewell; and one grandson, Andrew Layne. Helen is survived by two daughters, Barbara Layne (Eddie), of Dayton, Tenn., and Janice Varner (Malcom), of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.; four granddaughters, Paula Burchard (James), of Spring City, Tenn., Heather Layne (Jack O’Neal), of Dayton, Tenn., Missy Hale (Rob), of Hixson, Tenn., and April Conley (Jeff), of Dayton, Tenn.; and 10 great-grandchildren, Tanner Layne, Meagan Layne, Kierstynn Conley, Tyler Conely,Brooklyn Conley, Zachary Burchard, Alexander Burchard, Jenna Burchard, Clay Hale, Kaitlynn Cline; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be today from noon until 2 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home. Service will be today, April 28, at 2 p.m. with speaker Heather Layne. Interment: Rhea Memory Gardens.
