Rudy Lowrance

Rudy Franklin Lowrance, 80, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away on April 26, 2017. Frank was born on Jan. 10, 1937, in Brunswick, Tenn. He played on the varsity basketball team at Bolton High School and graduated from Memphis State University in 1960 earning a degree in Physical Education. He served in the Tennessee Air National Guard from 1960 to 1962. He taught and coached at his alma mater in Bolton; then retired from Phillips Petroleum Corporation, as the Marketing Manager for Chattanooga. He was a lifelong aficionado of sports and history and enjoyed hunting and fishing, but more than anything else loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.F. “Buddy” Lowrance and Rudie Pearl Carter Lowrance, and his sister, Beverly Lowrance Cochran. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Ann Lillis Lowrance, of Chattanooga; brother, Howard Lowrance (Elizabeth), of Memphis; son, Christopher Andrew Lowrance (Michelle), of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Karen Lowrance Schulz (Chris), of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren; many friends, and his beloved dog, Roscoe. A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. on June 10, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5001 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
