Opal Hale

ROSSVILLE — Opal Naomi Hale, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 16, 2017. She had lived in the Rossville area for most of her life and was a member of Lakeview First Baptist Church. She worked as a Rosie Riveter during WWII and was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Rossville Eastern Star Pocahontas Chapter #165 for more than 50 years. She was previously employed with Chattanooga Coin for many years and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, G.W. and Naomi Kilgore; beloved husband, Roger Fawn Hale Sr. and four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her children and spouses, Roger “Sonny” and (Elizabeth) Hale Jr., of Petersburg, Va., Johnny and (Gale) Hale, of Rossville, Ga., Becky and (Baker) Hyde, of Rossville, Ga., and Rita and (Mark) Brannan, of Greeneville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Brad Hyde, Jill Hale Pitts, Danielle Hale, Chase Hale, Haley Brannan and Alexandra Thompson; two great-grandchildren; special friends, Tom and Sue Gilbert, C.L. and Lynita Brown and Glenda Hibbitt and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Patrick Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
