Errol Oare

Errol Eric Oare Sr. passed away suddenly on Aug. 15, 2017, in the arms of his beloved wife, Patricia. Born in Perrysville, Ohio in 1939, Errol moved to Atlanta with his parents, Henry and Maxine and sister Roberta, when he was 8. Errol graduated from North Fulton High School, attending college at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. Using his knowledge in business management and a love of automobiles, in a career that spanned nearly 50 years, he served as Service Manager for several large dealerships in the Atlanta area, including Taber Pontiac, McNamara Pontiac/GMC, Boomershine Pontiac/GMC and Thompson Honda, retiring finally nearly a decade ago. He touched thousands of lives, treating everyone around him with care and respect. A bear of a man with a booming voice, he welcomed you with a familiar, friendly smile and a firm handshake, always assuring things would be well, and they were. Be it meandering around a car show, gathering with friends, out on a date with his wife or curled up at home with his pups by his side, Errol found his everlasting love in Patricia in the early 70s and they were married and inseparable for over 45 years. All of his family and lifelong friends will attest to the devotion and love they had for each other. His love for motorcycles, Jeeps, Willys and Nascar displayed almost as much as the love he has for Pat and family. Errol extended this care to his community in Ooltewah and the Ascension Lutheran Church giving his time and efforts in whatever way he could and was needed. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 45 years, Patricia Ann; his sisters, Roberta and Valerie; his four loving children, Natalie, Eric, Brent and Laura; eight grandchildren; a tremendous circle of friends and an uncountable number of people whose lives he touched positively. The family would be honored to receive you at a celebration of his life, being held at Ascension Lutheran Church on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. at 720 S. Germantown Road, Chattanooga, TN. 37412. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, Errol requested that donations be made in his name to: Ascension Lutheran Church for their outside pantry or Samaritan Center in Ooltewah, TN.
