Jewell Stansell

LaFAYETTE — Jewell Cole Stansell, 93, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017. She was a member of First Baptist Church LaFayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Stansell; her parents, Haskel Harrison Cole and Ollie Burkett Cole; sisters, Edith Reed, Shirley Thompson, and DeEtta Bratton; and brothers, Clifford Cole, Wayne Cole, and Fred Cole. She is survived by her sons, Charles (Sandra) Stansell, of Chattanooga and Roger (Kathy) Stansell, of LaFayette; grandchildren, Stephen (Stacy) Stansell, Leah (Drew) Sparks, Abbie (Blake) Austin, and Sara (Will) Clark; great-grandchildren, Darcy Stansell, Hunter Daughtery, and Carter Austin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service is noon Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Pallbearers are Mike Reed, Bobby Merritt, Bobby Neal, Larry Houston, Gary Thompson, and Kenneth McRae. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until hour of service. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
