Susan Westmoreland

Susan Kaye (Shafer) Westmoreland, 76 of Chattanooga, Tenn. passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017. Susan was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio on November 27, 1940 to the late, Gordon K. & Loraine L. Shafer and was of the Christian faith. After growing up in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, she graduated from high school and then went on to secretary school, before going to work for the CIA. She then served her remaining career field as a Paralegal for many years and was also an active member of the Tennessee Paralegal Association. Susan loved doing crossword puzzles, working outside in her yard, going to movies, plays and story teller events. She adored traveling with friends and family, watching old movies, sitcoms and going to museums. She worked on the committee of the East Ridge Revitalization and always loved to try new foods with the exception of southern morning gravy. She truly lived life to the fullest and laughed at everything, even if others may not have seen the humor in it. She was also preceded in death by her brother David L. Shafer (Mary). Survivors include her three children, Steve & (Jamie) Westmoreland, Lori & (Kent) Bledsoe and Kim & (Mickey) King; brother & sister-in-law, James (Ruth) Shafer; 5 grandchildren, Heather Howard, Zach Underhill, Kenny Westmoreland, Justin Westmoreland and Jacob Westmoreland and 8 great-grandchildren.
