Margaret Porter

Margaret Eleanor Porter, 88, of Red Bank, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at her home. Margaret was a loving wife and wonderful mother and grandmother who spent her life caring for and cherishing her family. Her varied careers throughout her life including working for the FBI and Bell Telephone in Washington, DC and most of her working years were spent as a proofreader with various typesetting companies in the Washington metropolitan area. She always had a great love of the outdoors and beauty of God’s creation, especially small animals, cats and birds. Her faith in the future was always in Jesus Christ and his redeeming love. She will be greatly missed, until we meet again in heaven. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Tommy, Nancy and Jimmy. Survivors include her children, Lee Carrie) Porter; Connie (Richard) Bissett; grandchildren, Gary, Derrick, John, Matthew, Leah, Amanda and Clayton; great-grandchildren, Dean and Alexandria; eldest sister, Ruby Gray Todd. A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, in her hometown of Wilmington, N.C., with Pastor Rudy Shepard officiating.
