Jo Burns

ROSSVILLE — Georgia Josephine “Jo” Burns, 84, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017. Georgia was born in Chattanooga on July 9, 1932, to parents, Rawls and Gretchen Durham. She was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area and member of Lakeview Wesleyan. Georgia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Donald Burns; sons, Richard, Bobby, and Billy Burns; one brother, and five sisters. Mrs. Burns is survived by her son, Larry Burns, Lafayette; daughters, Sue Lower, Jamestown, Tenn., and Tina Hensley, Greenville, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Dan Barton officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. The family would like to thank Jo’s nephew, Raymond Byrd, for the love and care he provided during recent years. The family will receive friends today, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
