Mack Gilreath

SUMMERVILLE — Mack DeForrest Gilreath, 78, of Highway 337, passed away peacefully at home, on the family farm in Teloga, Friday, July 21, 2017. A native Chattooga Countian, He was born July 10, 1939, to the late Winston Deforrest and Mildred Bartlett Gilreath. Mr. Gilreath was a member of New Hope North Baptist Church, was retired from management at Reichold Chemical, and was on the board of directors of Teloga Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are wife of 58 years, Ludain Pruitt Gilreath; daughters, Becky Gerrin and Sherri Shelby; sons, Calvin Gilreath and Jerry Gilreath; granddaughters, Lisa Logan, Lacey Strickland, Michelle Causey, Emily Selby, and Anna Grace Gilreath; grandson, Justin Pollard; great-grandchildren, Ansley Causey, Caden Causey, Brookly Causey, and Mack Pollard; brother, Neil Gilreath; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 24, at 1 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Deacon Randy Hunter and Pastor Steve Spears officiating, interment in the family plot of Macedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers are the Teloga Volunteer Firemen, Sammy Lee, Tony Wright, John Stubbs III, Tim Wesson, Patrick Wesson, Corey Wells, Jeff Smith, B. J. Eleam, Rhyan Keith, Andy Rowe, Brandon Blair, Heath Hammond, Nicholas Tomlin, Hayden Tomlin. The family will receive friends Monday, July 24, at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. The Family, respectfully request no food.
