Wilber Bishop

FAIRMOUNT — Dr. Wilber A. Bishop, Jr., 88, died at his residence on June 15, 2017. Dr. Bishop was a veteran, serving his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. He entered the service less than a year after graduating from Collegedale Academy in Collegedale, Tenn., in 1947. In addition to his parents, Dr. Bishop was preceded in death by his wife, Pattie Bishop. Funeral services for Dr. Wilber A. Bishop, Jr. will be held Tuesday, June 20, at 6 p.m. at the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Mittleider officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Chandler Cemetery, Calhoun, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, June 19, between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Maranatha Volunteers International, 990 Reserve Drive, Suite 100, Roseville, Calif., 85678.
