Alvin Ashworth

LOGANVILLE — Alvin Charles “A.C.” Ashworth, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 25, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Loganville. A.C. was an Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict as a Military Police Officer and had worked most of his life in the Textile Industry. He loved singing Bluegrass, Country Westerns and had been with the Shriner’s Band for more than 12 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and May Ashworth; daughter, Dianne Ashworth and several siblings, Horace Greeley Ashworth and Franklin Ashworth, Margie Nell Ashworth, Agnes Garner and Sarah Luttrell. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 64 years, Betty Hickey Ashworth, of Loganville, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Carlton Rice, of Lavonia, Ga.; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Rice, Ashley Rice and Katie Rice; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, in the LaFayette Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes. Burial will follow in the LaFayette City Cemetery.
