Emmett Carson

Emmett B. "EB" Carson Jr., 93, of Lakesite, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017, following a battle with colorectal cancer. Mr. Carson was born in Newport News, Va., to the late Emmett B. Carson and Alice Kirkpatrick Carson on March 6, 1924. After serving in the Army Air Corps in World War II, EB went on to graduate from The College of William and Mary and John Marshall Law School. He retired in 1987 after a successful career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Eliza L. Carson; his brother and one great-grandchild. Survivors include his children, Linda Carson of Venice, Fla., Kit (Nancy) Carson, of Colleyville, Texas, Kathy (Rudy) Ownbey, of Cleveland, Tenn., Pat Carson, of Lakesite, Tenn., and Jamie (Karen) Carson, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A private family graveside service will be held in Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
