Bessie Parson

COALMONT — Bessie A. Bennett Parson, passed away at her home Monday, June 26, 2017, with her family near. She was born in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on May 5, 1925 to George W. Bennett and Mary J. Kelly Bennett who preceded her in death along with her devoted husband of 68 years, Johnny Parson; sons, Gaylon L. and Rodger K. Parson; daughter, JaNora L. Dixon; sisters, Elsie Layne, Ovey Cox, Barbara Rounds, Jewel Spence and Ella Bennett; brothers, Elbert and Oliver Bennett. She was a dedicated wife and mother living most of her life in Coalmont, Tenn., attending the Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ann Parson, of Tracy City; sons, Dean (Carol) Parson, of Coalmont, Tenn., and Scott (Natalie) Parson, of Monteagle, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Danny Coffelt officiating with burial to follow in the Bonny Oaks Cemetery.
