Billy Hamrick

Billy Joe Hamrick, 78, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away on March 6, 2017. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and a child of God. Billy was owner/operator of General Sign Service for over 50 years. He was an amazing artist and lover of nature. He loved and appreciated everyone and everything, a seeker of knowledge and nature. He was a master diver and will be returned to the ocean upon cremation at Companion Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his mother, May Payne, of Ider, Ala. He is survived by two sons, Scott Hamrick and Danny Hamrick, both of Chattanooga; daughter, Bridget (Chip) Roberts, of Rising Fawn, Ga.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; mother of children, JoAnn Hamrick, of Chattanooga; brothers, Jack Hamrick, of Texas, George Wallace, of Lebanon; Johnny Wallace, of East Ridge, and Ray Wallace, of Chattanooga; and sisters, Norma Jean Davis, of Harrison, and Carolyn Wallace, of Chattanooga. A memorial to celebrate the life of Billy will be announced soon. Condolences will be received by the family at 317 Wild Acre Lane, Rising Fawn, GA 30738. Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are honored to assist the family with his arrangements.
