Willard Harris

FORT OGLETHORPE — Willard “Woody” Harris, 90, passed away May 17, 2017, at his home. Mr. Harris retired form DuPont with 37 years of Service, was a Navy veteran of WWII serving on the U.S.S. San Marcos and the U.S.S. Crater, and was a member of Ridgedale Masonic Lodge #660 and Alhambra Shriners. Surviving include his spouse, Joyce Lamberth Harris; daughter, Angi (Jim) Shoemake, of Sarasota, Fla.; son, Marc Harris, of Fort Myers, Fla.; stepson, Todd Knight, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Knight, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Les Harris, of Carson City, Nev.; stepson, Larry Knight, of Chattanooga, Tenn. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alhambra Shrine Temple Transportation Fund, 1000 Alhambra Drive, Chattanooga, Tenn., 37421, 1-423-892-0223. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Bob Patty officiating.
