Dianne Whittington

Dianne Joan Whittington, passed away May 19, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Savannah, Aug. 19, 1948, she lived there 30 years, attending Isle of Hope United Methodist Church and graduating from Richard Arnold High School. In 1978, she moved to Chattanooga, to join Orange Grove Center. She worked many jobs in the community and represented OGC as an award-winning Special Olympics athlete in swimming, running, and bowling. As a member of Church of the Highlands, she was active in Helping Hands and enjoyed working with children. She was also a founding member of Team Duncan and annually raised money for March for Babies. She is survived by three sisters, three nieces, five nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews, her fiancé, and countless friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Hillcrest Abbey, 1600 Wheaton Street, Savannah.
