Eunice Hicks

LaFAYETTE — Eunice Violet Rooks Hicks, 97, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Violet retired from Medi-Thrift Pharmacy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Jackson Hicks; infant daughter, Barbara Annette Hicks; grandson, Mark Alvin Gass; brothers, Thomas Rooks, Lloyd Rooks, and Raymond Rooks; sister, Beatrice Sowell; and son-in-law, Bob Gass. She is survived by her daughters, Lynda (Leon) Valdes, of Jacksonville, Fla., Judy Gass and Teresa Fahrubel, both of LaFayette; son, Alvin (Andria) Russell Hicks; five grandsons; two granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Bob) Ferrell, of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South. Pallbearers are Chris Gass, Chad Fahrubel, and Stephen Valdes. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
