Sandra Finney

FORT OGLETHORPE — Sandra Jane Finney, 58, went home to be with the lord on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, in a local hospital following a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area. She was an employee of the Georgia Department of Correctional Services for 23 years. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren; she loved spending time outside watching the hummingbirds feed and planting beautiful flowers in her patio garden; she loved to go yard selling, she also really enjoyed playing board games and card games with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Fairchild, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and her sister, Cookie Fairchild, of Chattanooga, Tenn. Survivors Include her three siblings, John Fairchild, of LaFayette, Ga., Patricia Worley, of Rossville, Ga., and Rhoda Fairchild, of Rossville, Ga.; her three children, Regina Beene, of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., Alice Biddle, of Cohutta, Ga., and Eric Finney, of Hixson, Tenn.; her eight grandchildren Cassie Henson, Josh Henson, Adriana Finney, Kyndall Beene, Corynn Biddle, Eric Brennan Finney, Brandon Finney, and Aubree Finney. A private service was held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, in Hixson, TN. Cremation Center of Chattanooga, 423-362-5999.
