Richard Darnell

Richard “Dick” Darnell, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017. Richard was born on March 1, 1935 to the late James and Thelma Darnell. He retired from Glen Ellis Trucking Co. in Chattanooga, Tenn., he was a member of the Shriner Club and Scottish Rites, and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and UT sports. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 yrs., Nancy Karnes Darnell; daughter, Sherri Smiley; sons, Rick (Stephanie) Darnell, Jeff (Cathy) Darnell; grandchildren, Alyson McArthur, Brooke (Shane) Burrow, Tyler Darnell, Ethan (Kevin) Darnell, Lucas Darnell, Danielle Darnell, Nicole (Zach) Davis, Jacob Darnell; and great grandchildren, Roan McArthur, Devin Burrow, and Parker Burrow. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with pastor Bill Mason officiating.
