Sarah Houts

Sarah O'Grady Houts died peacefully after a long illness on Sept. 23, 2017. She worked at her passion of teaching dance for many years with Helen Jones School of Dance. She was a quilter and a hooker of rugs. An artist whatever her project. She worked for Bill Knowles at the courthouse, the UTC Roundhouse and retired from UTC racquetball center. She was a member of the Notre Dame HS class of 1953. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, John C. (Buddy) Houts. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Houts May; grandsons, Dillon May, Garry May and Jace Flatt; her son, John C. Houts III and granddaughter, Brittany Houts Clark and her other son, David J. (Gina) Houts and grandsons, Holden and Grady Houts (Knoxville). She had a brother, Michael O'Grady. (Augusta, Ga.) and a sister, Margaret O'Grady Dill; along with four nephews and four great-grandchildren. Mass will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Monsignor Al Humbrect in Soddy-Daisy, TN. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Ringgold Rd.
