Vivian Eisenbrandt

Vivian Eisenbrandt, 97, of Alexian Village, died Aug. 2, 2018, after a wonderful long life. A native of Chicago, she was a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She had a special way with children and loved babies. She learned to knit at 11 years old and became an expert at her craft. Her baby Afghans, booties, sweaters and hats are treasured by family, friends and acquaintances. Seeing the babies in her beautiful creations brought her joy and fulfillment. Vivian was a master cook and regularly planned parties for friends and family. Vivian loved to dance with her husband. She had many friends across the country. Vivian kept in touch with them throughout her long life from high school chums to those she met traveling from Army Air Corp base to base prior to her husband's deployment in WWII and all of the friends they met as they raised a family and enjoyed retirement. Vivian survived them all. Vivian was a devoted Catholic and believed prayer was a powerful force in her life. She lived her faith and was thoughtful, generous and kind. She is survived by her children, Carol (Curtis) Ballard, Nancy Eisenbrandt, Gary Eisenbrandt; and grandchildren, Matthew and MIchael Fuson, Emma and Blais Eisenbrandt; and step-grandchildren, Brodie Ballard and Holly Winters. She was preceded in death by her parents; Bob Eisenbrandt, her husband of 70 years; her sister, Juanita; brother, Leo; and son-in-law, Dan Fuson. A memorial mass will be said at St. Augustine's Chapel at Alexian Village on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 11:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to MJS Healthcare Scholarship Fund c/o Alexian Village, 437 Alexian Way, Signal Mountain 37377 or Hospice of Chattanooga, P.O.
