Walter Weaver

Walter Delos Weaver Jr. passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, at the age of 91 years. Walter was born in Americus, Ga., and graduated from Americus High School and the University of Georgia with a BS in Marketing. He proudly served his country in WWII (Navy) and the Korean War (Army) and then went on to work for NASA and the National Institute of Health until he retired and moved to Chattanooga, whereupon he began yet another career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. Walter was preceded in death by the love of his life, Martha Weaver (nee Saxon) with whom he travelled the world. They were dedicated members of St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church in Chattanooga. A memorial service will be held at St. Martin of Tours Episcopoal Church Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Walter’s honor to St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church, 7547 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga 37421.
