Janice Raines

TRENTON — Janice Cleo Rains, 70, died peacefully Monday, Feb. 5, 2018. She was a loving mother and friend. Mrs. Raines was of the Church of Christ faith. She held many careers in her life but the one she loved the most was being a care giver at the Orange Grove Center. Her happiest times included spending time on the river with her many friends. Preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 49 years David Joseph Raines Sr.; grandson David Joseph Raines III; parents Alfred and Ethel Paine; sister Jean Graham of Grosse Pointe Farms, Miss.; sister Betty (Jack) Acuff of Rockmart, Ga.; sister Ann (Laron) Clark of Trenton, Ga.; brother Gordan (Patsy) Walling of Chattanooga; brother-in-law Bill Keeton, Donald Wheeler, Tommy Mitchum; sister-in-law Diane Ott of Tiftonia. Survivors include her daughter Karla (David) Meyer of Madison, Miss.; son Joey (Kathryn) Raines of Pensacola, Fla.; granddaughter Nicole Wade of Chattanooga; granddaughter Sarah (Jason) Duren of Madison, Miss.; granddaughter Kristen Meyer (Tony Burton) of Brandon, Miss.; great-grandsons Hunter Wade, Grayson Wade and Meyer Duren; great-granddaughter Lola Duren; sisters Otelia Wheeler, Ruth Keeton, Shirley Mitchum and Connie Street all of Trenton, Ga.; brother Wendal Paine of Trenton, Ga.; sister-in-law Melba (David) Gallegly of Dalton, Ga.; brother-in-law Mike Ott of Tiftonia, Tenn.; several nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly. The family would like to thank Tapestry Hospice for such kindness and care, and Sandra Gray for extending her knowledge and care through this difficult journey. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, in the chapel with Bro. David Gallegly and Bro. Tim Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens, Trenton, Ga. Family will receive friends 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, Ga.
