Thelma McCorkle

Thelma Louise Langston McCorkle, 75, of Ooltewah, Tenn., passed away Monday Feb. 19, 2018. A lifelong resident of the North Georgia Chattanooga area, she was a former employee of Dixie Industries where she worked for 9 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. McCorkle; parents, Clarence Edward and Vertle Lee Land Langston; and brother, Howard Langston. She is survived by five children, James M. (Charlene) McCorkle, of Ooltewah, Tenn., Donnie R. McCorkle, of Overton, Tenn., Gary L. McCorkle, of Ooltewah, Tenn., Jeffery S. (Gwen) McCorkle, of Ooltewah, Tenn., and Clarence E. McCorkle, of Ooltewah, Tenn.; sister, Joyce (Johnny) Whittemore, of Ringgold, Ga.; brother, Edward Langston, of Ringgold, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Donald Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens-East. The family will receive friends 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Ga.
