Jerry Dublin

ROSSVILLE — Jerry R. Dublin, 82, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at his home. He had lived most of his life in North Georgia, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benton, Kentucky, and attended the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga. Jerry retired from Walmart in Ft. Oglethorpe as a manager in the Boys Department. He was a member of the American Orchid Society and Jerry’s passions in life were working with his orchids in his greenhouse, collecting owls, and enjoying nature and animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Dub” and Lucille Dublin; sister, Anne Dublin Nelson; and niece, Jennifer Nelson. Survivors include his niece, Barbara Dunn; nephews, Kelvin Beard and Jason Beard; lifelong friend and caregiver, Darrell Sheehan; his Chihuahua, Tula; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Chickamauga City Cemetery with Chaplain Pat Davis officiating. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
