Robert Lahr

JASPER — Robert E. Lahr Sr., 80, of Jasper, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Jan. 25. He was born April 19, 1937, a son of the late William D. and Alice E. (Marose) Lahr. He attended Trevorton School Pa. On July 6, 1957, he married the former Ruth Ann Chesney, who preceded him in death in 2010. They enjoyed 53 years of loving marriage and spent time camping, traveling, and with family. He was a long-time resident of Burnside in Coal Township Pa. He worked in construction and also enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include a son, Robert E. Lahr, with whom he resided; two daughters, Lorie Quackenbush and her husband Bill, and Lisa Hoffman; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Hine, Edna Lahr-Mensch and Annette Houtz; five brothers, Marlin Lahr, William Lahr Jr., Elwood Lahr, Raymond Lahr and Boyd Lahr; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends in Pa. and Tenn. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack Lahr, Henry Lahr, Joseph Lahr and Paul Lahr; and a sister, Patricia Lahr. There will be a memorial service held at Millers Crossroads UMC Pa. at a later date to be determined by the family.
