Raymond Grant

Raymond Mark Grant, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center. Born Feb. 15, 1927, Raymond was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. He was a graduate of Central High School. He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. Raymond retired from Siskin Steel after 40 plus years of service. He was a member of Brainerd Baptist, and a member of the Dixson/Pryor Sunday School Class. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; parents, William R. and Myrtle Chelette Grant; sister, Lois Greer; and his brothers, John William and Richard Jackson Grant. Left behind to cherish Raymond’s memory are his daughters, Janet Embrey and Judy (Rick) Driggans; grandson, Andy Driggans; brother, Jay (Margie) Grant; sister, Doris Anne (David) DeLoach; and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. A Celebration of Raymond’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. He will be laid to rest with his wife in the Greenwood Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brainerd Baptist Church, the 365 Club (Siskin.org) or the charity of your choice.
