Roger McBrayer

SEVIERVILLE — Roger McBrayer, 64, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on June 7, 2018. He resided with his daughter in Sevierville. He will forever be remembered as a wonderful Dad and Grandpa. He was preceded in death by his father James McBrayer, mother Janet Elkins, and brother David McBrayer. He is survived by his children Emily (Eric), Sarah, Philip, and Rebecca (Michael); granddaughters Sophia and Lucy; sister Sheila; beloved mother of his children and “BFF” Cindy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Roger will be remembered for his love of all types of music, woodworking, an extraordinary green thumb, passion for all things scientific including physics, math, and astronomy. He shared his vast knowledge any time he got the chance (even if his kids didn’t always appreciate the lectures when they were trying to finish homework). He put his love of science and technology to work while serving in the Air Force as well as his professional life throughout the years. Camping was a favorite event and we will cherish the many memories of family camping trips. The family would like to express profound gratitude for the care he received over the years by Dr. Robert Moore, Jr. at Seymour Family Physicians. Dr. Moore was always up to the challenge of keeping him as healthy as possible. With his help we were able to enjoy quality time with Roger for many years.
