Virginia Cockrell

Virginia Helen Cockrell, age 82, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Virginia born in Anderson, Indiana to the late Fred and Lula Davis. She taught swimming to all ages ranging from pee wee to adults, taught water aerobics and jazzercise at the YMCA. She worked with Siskin’s using resistance of water for rehabilitation. Virginia was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Andre; brother, Max Davis. Virginia is survived by her children, Cynthia R. (Jeff) Johnson, Charlie (Roxanne) Cockrell and Max Cockrell; grandson, Matthew Wyatt Cockrell; sister, Mary Lou Lowery; numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Graveside services for Virginia will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
