Hugh McCray

PIKEVILLE — Hugh L. McCray, 87, died Monday, May 21, 2018. He was born in Pleasant Prairie, Wisc., worked in the soft drink business for many years in Illinois and Florida retiring as Plant Manager of Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Pahokee, Fla. Hugh was in the U.S. Army, Illinois National Guard, served in Korea during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, stock car racing and traveling visiting 48 states and many foreign countries. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Nelson and Maebelle Leiting McCray; son, Kevin McCray; brother, Terrell McCray; brother-in-law, Willie Webster. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley McCray, Pikeville; daughters, Lisa (Jim) Shannon, Crossville, Cheryl Gallegos, Reynoldsburg, OH, Janice Molawa, Spring Grove, Ill.; son, Terry (Diane) McCray, Apopka, Fla.; grandchildren, Scott, Brennan, Christopher, Shannon, Jared, Mac (April), Pamela, Travis (Hannah), Logan, Chad, Jennifer (Charles), Ryan (Kaylynn); great-grandchildren, Dane, Jonathan, Madison, Kitty, Mason, Aidyn; brother, Noel (Eleanor) McCray; sister-in-law, Myrna Webster; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. CDT Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. CDT Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Pikeville Funeral Home. Condolences can be made at www.pikevillefuneralhome.com.
