Fuad Saah

Fuad Mousa Saah, 87, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 27, 2018. Fuad was one of eight children, born on May 26, 1931, to Mousa and Sara Saah, in Ramallah, Palestine. In 1965, he emigrated to the Washington, D.C. area with his mother and two of his siblings, where he worked as a painter for several years. Needing a change, he moved to Lexington, Ky. to be near his sister, Julia. While in Lexington, he worked various jobs until he started a life long friendship and career, working with his close friend/mentor, Mr. Bruce. Fuad, had a passion for hunting and would go on excursions with family and friends. He was an independent, self-sufficient, industrious and curious man. He taught himself everything from baking bread to taxidermy. For the most part, he was a quiet natured man, who wanted to live a peaceful life, one without chaos or idle chatter; he was a man who loved his family and cherished his friendships. In 1995, he found that peace, when he met and married, his beloved wife, Nadia. They settled in the Chattanooga area, bought a small, comfortable house, where they could plant a beautiful garden, enjoy his banana trees and quietly watch the hummingbirds as he sipped his morning coffee. This union also blessed him with a big extended family and he found joy in two little boys, his niece, Jennifer’s children, Maddox and Knox Heaton, whom he loved and regarded as his grandchildren. There was unconditional, mutual love between Fuad and these two little boys…days of fishing, tinkering around the garden or in looking through all the cool things he kept in his office. This life brought him joy and contentment. He wanted a peaceful existence and he had that until his last breath. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Issa, Nabih and Yousef; sisters, Julia and Hidiyeh; his brothers in law, Samir & Hanna Jaanini. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nadia Jaanini Saah; his grandchildren, Maddox and Knox; one brother, Jamil, brother-in-law Michael Jaanini, sisters-in-laws Helen Jaanini, Siran Jaanini, a large family of Saah’s and Jaanini’s; countless nieces, nephews and dedicated friends. ‘Death never takes a wise man by surprise, he is always ready to go’ May you rest in eternal peace, Fuad, Amo, Sedo, Brother; we love you and will honor you the remaining days of our lives. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
