Ray Emerling

Ray Eugene Emerling, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018. He was born to the late Floyd and Mattie Harvey Emerling in Chattanooga and was of the Baptist Faith. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, before joining the U.S. Air Force and retiring as a Technical Sgt. After more than 20 yrs. Ray was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be greatly missed. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Emerling Fortner, brothers, R.J. Emerling, LeRoy Emerling and Harvey Emerling. Ray is survived by his daughter, Donna J. Emerling of Phoenix, AZ, sisters, Geneva Holloman of Red Bank and Virginia Owensby of Chattanooga, grandchildren, Chance Tate of Soddy Daisy and Zak Aaron Tate of Colorado Springs, and several nieces and nephews. A private family burial will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe.
